Workit Spaces Productions presents Covid Reality - Australia's first coworking online series
COVID Reality Episode

COVID Reality is Australia’s first coworking online series, following the lives of small business entrepreneurs at Workit Spaces – a Sydney-based coworking space, during COVID-19.

Created by Workit Spaces Productions, the series gives the public authentic and unprecedented access to entrepreneurs’ journeys; the highs and lows of navigating the impact of COVID-19 and the unique entrepreneurial talent we have in Australia.

Workit Spaces is an eCommerce hub and coworking space which hosts more than 80 small to medium businesses from a wide variety of industries. Workit’s mission is to establish communities and networks of entrepreneurs, businesses and curious minds – working, connecting and growing under a common roof.

This collective of SMEs is a micro-ecosystem that represents the Australian economy.

What is COVID Reality all about?

Emily Townsend of WorkIt Spaces says the COVID Reality online series endeavours to show first-hand the day to day struggles and successes of SMEs during this unprecedented time.

Watch as Alcmena (online baby products) sells out of reusable nappies, while Sims Direct (international sim card provider) goes from $8,000 revenue per day to zero overnight.

“Small business is the backbone of the Australian economy employing almost fifty per cent of our workforce – individually small business may be overlooked but as a collective they have a louder voice. Workit Spaces felt the need and benefits of casting a light on the under-represented small business community.

The media is full of content covering the achievements of big corporate and Australia’s richest, it is now time to showcase the real heroes of our society,” says Emily Townsend.

“We decided to do this series because small business has been significantly affected by COVID-19 both negatively and in some cases positively. We felt that small business needs a much louder voice at a time like this. As a collective of 80+ businesses operating within our hub, we wanted to capture the impacts of COVID-19 as they unfold.

COVID Reality hopes to educate the Australian people on what small business is facing right now as well as reaching out to our politicians to help produce more appropriate stimulus packages and policies. What’s good for small business is good for Australia’s economy.

Small business is at war right now just to survive and these are the stories from the front line” adds Emily.

The series features representatives of businesses from a variety of industries spanning fashion, food, candles, packaging, electronics, events, travel, media, videographers, digital marketing, architects, finance, health and wellness.
