Wiz launches Aussie data centre to aid clients’ data sovereignty efforts

Assaf Rappaport, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at Wiz

Wiz, the cloud security platform that rapidly enables clients to find and remove critical cloud risks, announced the availability of its first Australian data centre in Sydney, NSW. With this data centre, Aussie firms can enjoy the same benefits of Wiz, while being assured their data is housed and protected in Australia, meeting data sovereignty and privacy requirements.

What does the data centre mean for its Aussie clients?

The data centre is built on the same scalable architectural design of Wiz’s infrastructure, enabling new features to become available to Australian customers on a global schedule.

The investment in an Australian data centre shows Wiz’s commitment to the Australian market, as it looks to build its rapidly growing customer portfolio, which includes brands such as Linktree, OFX and TechnologyOne. In addition, Wiz is supporting the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s Essential Eight Security Guidelines model as a supported framework.

Firms can use the Essential Eight benchmarking capabilities along with existing support for common industry benchmarks such as CIS Controls, ISO 27001, SOC2 to automatically understand their compliance posture and to focus their teams on where to improve.

This investment displays the company’s commitment to the Australian market—which has seen exponential growth in the past year—as it aims to ensure customers have enough local support and resources required to effectively implement and achieve value with Wiz.
