WHIZZ, has acquired technology and customer driven removalist marketplace, Rocket Removals, fuelling the company with immediate growth ahead of a proposed IPO.
Rocket Removals’ closely aligned positioning with WHIZZ made it an obvious acquisition. The company’s customer base, which also has been built on trust, as well as its use of their proprietary Fleet 365 technology, a key reason for the synergy.
Why is WHIZZ purchasing Rocket Removals?
The acquisition accelerates WHIZZ to become Australia’s largest and most competitive online home services marketplace. The acquisition not only places the company in a healthy position for its proposed IPO, it also allows it to capitalise on Australia’s $52B home services industry.
The Rocket Removal Fleet365 technology will provide WHIZZ with real time data on the movement and load capacity of its supply network. This creates an opportunity to maximise revenue, particularly on valuable interstate routes.
“Furniture removals are worth upwards of $2 billion dollars in Australia.”
“With WHIZZ’s expertise in on-demand marketplaces, combined with our category knowledge and proven track record, we are well positioned to disrupt the relocation industry in Australia.”
“As a consumer, the ability to spend less for a better service that is stress free is a real game changer,” said Nicholas Yialas, founder, Rocket Removals.

WHIZZ will harness Rocket Removals services
“We were attracted to the people, the technology, the opportunity to introduce operational and marketing efficiencies, as well as the opportunity to extend our categories with an already established platform and digital marketplace solution,” said Anthony Pettiona, CEO WHIZZ.
“This deal allows us to combine two unique front-end models to provide our customers with innovative on-demand offerings. Rocket Removals, and in particular their removal technology software component – Fleet365 – sees an immediate opportunity to drive growth.”
“The acquisition is EBITDA accretive, bolts on nicely to our existing marketplace technology solutions, and will immediately support our expansion plans.”
The combined marketplace of WHIZZ now boasts over 3,000+ qualified professionals and continues to realise strong compounding monthly growth.
Online Home Services is an exciting and newly formed online marketplace category and WHIZZ is well positioned to capitalise on an organic migration of outsourced services within homes.
