Business help and guidance website, Switch on Business, has analyzed data from B Lab, along with reviews and referral scores on Glassdoor, to reveal the best B Corp employers in the US. The study also identifies the states leading the way in B Corp business certification.

Atomic Object revealed as the best B Corp to work for in the U.S
Atomic Object, headquartered in Michigan, is the leading B Corp employer across the whole of America, according to the analysis. Atomic Object has an impact score of 63.6, and 97% of employees said they would recommend working here to a friend, according to Glassdoor.
Following in second place is the New York-based communications agency, Butler/Till. On Glassdoor, the company achieves a rare 100 percent CEO approval score, with several reviews claiming the company is the “best place they have ever worked”.

California ranks as the best state for B Corps in the US
California is the leading state for B Corp companies with 388 certified – over double that of New York with 173. Oregon follows with 147 B Corp businesses. The states with the lowest number of B Corps include Alabama and Louisiana, both with only a single B Corp-certified business each. Alaska, Arkansas, and Rhode Island have two B Corp businesses per state.

The best sectors for B Corps across America
Currently, the top-performing sector for the number of B Corps in the United States is food products – with 136 businesses. The advertising and market research industry places in second with 105 B Corps, followed by the investment advising sector with 82 B Corps.
On the other end of the list, Switch On Business reveals that a number of sectors have much fewer businesses recognized by B Lab, including air transport, computer and electronic products, medical and dental supplies, newspapers and magazines, and travel agencies.
