Stax platform drives cloud innovation in preparation for global expansion

Thor Essman, Managing Director, Stax AWS platform

Stax, a native AWS cloud management platform, has announced plans for global expansion, with sights set on expanding into New Zealand and South East Asia by Q1 2022.

Over the past year, the Australian pioneering technology company has increased its year-on-year revenue by 175% and doubled its headcount to more than 60 employees.

Stax AWS platform experiencing strong growth

Stax has also raised $23.6m in private funding and invested $37m in R&D in FY21, demonstrating strong growth throughout the pandemic, as businesses rushed to the cloud.

To support this next phase of growth, Stax has hired three new executives to drive sales, operations and marketing, and appointed Thor Essman as Managing Director.

Stax, which began as a product division at Amazon Web Services (AWS) partner Versent, under James Coxon and Thor Essman’s direction, now operates as a standalone entity.

The platform takes care of the fundamental foundations required to operate on AWS, so enterprises can unlock the inherent opportunities for innovation in the cloud.

Stax is successful in minimising cloud complexity, reducing the time to market for cloud deployments from months to weeks, and freeing up engineers and developers.

This facilitates them to focus on innovating for the company’s core business, as demonstrated by the strong customers acquisition numbers seen in the last 12 months including brands such as Event Hospitality & Entertainment (EVT), Daymark and carsales.

Thor Essman said, “Our philosophy is to constantly challenge the IT industry to bring greater discipline, automation, craftsmanship and deliver excellence to enterprise technology.”

“The Stax platform is a dynamic symbol of this, helping our customers drive cloud outcomes with more impact, lower risk, and lower cost. I’m thrilled to welcome Davinia, Amanda and Prayna to the team, to help us further this vision and how we deliver it to market.”

“Davinia understands AWS customers and partners better than anyone.”

Stax helps businesses transform with confidence, knowing they are adopting a no debt technology environment in the cloud, which is constantly maintained. Stax is growing rapidly.
