Sam Schachna, the Chief Executive Officer at Roma Foods

Roma Foods has been awarded Product of the Year in the Vegan Snacking Category for its recently-launched plant-based Spliits crispbread, confirming the company’s strategy to meet growing consumer demand for products boasting health and wellness credentials.

The prestigious Product of the Year award is the world’s largest consumer-voted award for product innovation, with participants being awarded across several food categories.

Sam Schachna, the Chief Executive Officer at Roma Foods shared his excitement.

“We are delighted that Spliits has been recognized by both industry and the general public as leading the way in product innovation. Made with veggies and no added sugars, these gluten-free vegan crispbreads align with our mission of creating great food for healthier living.”

Roma Foods has pioneered the “free-from” industry in Australia since the 1980s.

Proudly made in Australia in specialist gluten and allergen-free facility, the company currently exports its products to over seventy countries around the world.

“Despite the upheaval caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, the crisis has surprisingly accelerated opportunities for Australian food manufacturers such as Roma Foods.”

“The future is very bright for local companies with great teams, robust supply chains, a commitment to innovation, and established relationships with key customers.”
