Riverbed® announced Orca Tech as a distributor within Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), and the hire of Malcolm Down as Director Australia and New Zealand Channels and Alliances, continuing the company’s commitment to being a channel-led company in this market.
What will Orca Tech offer in the partnership?
Orca Tech will provide an indirect sales channel for Riverbed’s unified observability and acceleration solutions to help organisations deliver seamless digital experiences that drive enterprise performance. The partnership will also provide Riverbed with a new stream of opportunities as the company looks to broaden its offerings to the region.
Orca Tech began operations in ANZ in 2017 with its cyber security-focused offering. The distributor brings together a portfolio of complimentary vendor sets and experience within the security industry. It has become one of the fastest growing distributors in the market. This deal marks the second local distributor to partner with Riverbed, alongside Arrow ECS.
Commenting about the deal, Orca Tech’s General Manager Craig Ashwood said; “We’re looking forward to introducing Riverbed to an expansive group of partners. I’m really excited about the rapid progress Riverbed has made on the unified observability and acceleration sides of the business, and as a cyber security-focused distributor, our goal is to assist Riverbed and our partners to take advantage of this to accelerate adoption and growth.”
The partnership builds on Riverbed plans to invest in unique growth and market opportunities that allow their clients to drive better performance and deliver a top digital experience. The alliance with Orca Tech forms a crucial component to the firm’s overarching strategy.
What does Malcolm’s re-hire mean for Riverbed®?
Riverbed also announced the appointment of Malcolm Down to the role of Director Australia and New Zealand Channels and Alliances, responsible for Riverbed’s partner ecosystem, and supporting partners through business development and enablement.
An experienced sales and channel director, he returns to the firm after four years, when he was previously focused on the service provider business for Riverbed. Based in Sydney, Down will report to Riverbed’s Senior Vice President of Global Partners and Alliances Alex Thurber.
“I’m really excited to be back at Riverbed as the company enters the next stage in our evolution. We have always been focused on the delivery of exceptional end user experience and in the new ways of hybrid working this is more important than ever before,” said Down.
“It provides a massive opportunity for our partners to become even more vital to their end clients and deliver true business value. Orca Tech’s market reach, along with the firm’s highly experienced and skilled team, will support our partners as cloud, mobility and hybrid working continue to drive IT complexity – increasing the need for unified observability and acceleration solutions so that organisations can fully deliver on their digital transformation strategies.”
This follows Riverbed’s announced brand identity, which included the introduction of Alluvio by Riverbed for Unified Observability – a single portfolio that brings together data, insights, and actions across the digital ecosystem to provide seamless, secure digital experiences.
