One Key Access raises $1m in pre-seed funding to curb delivery problem

Chanel Costabir, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at One Key Access

One Key Access, has converged the LogisticsTech and PropTech industries to combat parcel theft and provide authorised couriers with secure access to buildings and parcel storage locations. The start-up has raised $1m in funding from Antler Australia, LaunchVic’s Alice Anderson Fund and strategic Angel investors in their recent pre-seed investment round.

Founded by Chanel Costabir and Raymond Ngai, who having previously worked for Australia Post, saw an opportunity to create a solution that to benefit the last-mile delivery industry.

What is the mission behind One Key Access?

“Our goal at One Key Access is to enable frictionless 24/7 deliveries. We believe we can best achieve this by being the connector between the delivery drivers and the entire smart delivery ecosystem”, says co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Chanel Costabir.

With 82% of Aussie households shopping online, parcel theft is on the rise. One Key Access is fostering an environment for more convenient and secure delivery solutions to be created by connecting couriers to access control systems and parcel lockers via their cloud platform.

One Key Access issues delivery drivers with a universal digital key that grants authorised entry to buildings and parcel lockers, powered by the One Key Access platform.

“We have created an agnostic solution that streamlines the process for a courier to gain authorised entry into buildings and then easily deliver into a parcel locker or mail room.”

“The delivery experience today is less than ideal. Delivery drivers aren’t able to securely deliver to apartment residents when they aren’t home, residents are having to travel to alternative locations to collect their parcels and building managers are dealing with parcels being stolen from the foyer. With One Key Access, all of this friction is removed”, she says.

What are the stakeholder thoughts on One Key Access?

Having launched in Melbourne this month, the funding will help the business grow the team and expand to other states. To enable frictionless deliveries, One Key Access is working with delivery firms like leading couriers Australia Post, Aramex, Couriers Please, DHL and more.

One Key Access sees the friction that exists in last-mile delivery as a broken link in the e-commerce value chain and has ambitions to unlock seamless deliveries to any location that can become a smart delivery location. Global early-stage Venture Capital firm, Antler, who was one of the first investors in One Key Access, invested again in their recent round.

“This team has worked at the coalface of the problem. By knowing what hasn’t worked and a finger on the pulse of what the market need is, One Key Access has carved out an exciting niche that will streamline last mile logistics”, says Laura Faulconer, Venture Partner at Antler.
