Intuit QuickBooks Australia has been ranked 11th Best Medium Workplace in Australia 2022 by Great Place to Work. With the business prioritising its people’s health and wellbeing, implementing programs to support emotional, physical and financial wellbeing, and providing an extensive perks program with health and tuition benefits, the formula for success is working – resulting in a vibrant, inclusive culture where Intuit’s people can do their best work.
What were the executives’ thoughts on the recognition?
“I’m delighted Intuit QuickBooks is once again recognised as one of Australia’s Best Workplaces. Today’s result is testament to our dedicated employees and their collective ability to meet every challenge head on, working together to create what is a unique workplace here at Intuit QuickBooks,” says Lars Leber, VP Intuit QuickBooks Australia.
“Our values are core to our culture. Over the last two tough years we have worked hard to ensure our workplace culture thrives, even with remote working. With 92% of our people saying Intuit is a great place to work, this is the beginning of what I hope is a continued journey for us as a workplace of choice in Australia,” Lars Leber further commented.
“We hire to attract the best talent regardless of gender, background, and our hiring principles are built on a strong foundation that welcomes diversity in thought, ethnicity, and gender. The climate of staff shortages and retention challenges makes this award recognition even more meaningful. Intuit QuickBooks’ enduring principles, combined with our ability to adapt and evolve, make us confident that we’ll still be thriving when that future comes,” added Leber.
Commenting on the recognition, Intuit QuickBooks HR Business Partner, Nada Wassef, said, “We’re so honoured that our people feel valued and recognise the business’ investment in their wellbeing and growth. Receiving this ranking is a positive affirmation of our hard work.”
Why did Intuit QuickBooks stand out?
Intuit’s diversity, equity and inclusion plan includes bold diversity hiring goals and increased scrutiny of all operations — from equity in pay and promotions to language in products and internal technical terminology. Intuit QuickBooks Australia has enhanced its gender-diverse reputation by hiring five more women in leadership roles (reaching 33% women in leadership) while recruiting engineers at a time when competition for tech skills is higher than ever.
During the lockdowns, Intuit QuickBooks Australia reimagined its hallmark events to keep the Intuit culture thriving virtually, as well as implementing “Recharge Days” for everyone in the firm to take paid leave and sending food and wellness packages to keep staff energised.
This care extended to the most vulnerable members of the community, with Intuit investing in underserved communities to meet challenges and plant the seeds for a better tomorrow under its ‘We Care and Give Back’ community program. Since August 2021, the team has undertaken 105 hours through volunteering and donated $38,000 for various charities.
Great Place to Work is a national recognition program based on a rigorous methodology and validated employee feedback. They have been recognising Australia’s best workplaces for the last 14 years in Australia, and use 30 years of data science and 100 million employee surveys to inform their rankings.
