Grub Lab managed to save Christmas with their launching of Santagram

Innovative hospitality technology company, Grub Lab is creating a Christmas to remember after a year to forget, by launching Augmented Reality (AR) Santa photos.

Santagram’  will allow 100,000 families attending hospitality venues in the lead-up to Christmas to get their photos with Santa, despite many restrictions due to COVID-19.

Santagram will be available for free to anyone visiting a participating venue.

Families can download the Grub Lab app, scan the code on the floor of the venue, which leads to three Santa photo opportunities in a socially distanced and totally COVID-safe way.

Finally, you can save the photo to your phone and share it on social media or with friends or get it printed! The first Santagram photo scene is an Aussie classic, with Santa on the beach holding a surfboard, while Rudolph surfs a wave in the background.

The second scene was a more traditional Christmas winter wonderland. Families had Christmas snaps with Santa in the outback, complete with cork hat Kangaroo and Kookaburras.

For many retailers and venues, Santa Claus has been put on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so in a bid to encourage families back into Australian local pubs, clubs and restaurants, Grub Lab is creating AR Santa snaps for the whole family.

Venues include Wenty Leagues Club, The Greens North Sydney and Seagulls Club Tweed Heads.
