Finder appoints Jinnee Lim to super charge growth in Southeast Asia

Jinnee Lim, Chief Growth Officer, Finder Southeast Asia

Global fintech, Finder, has announced the appointment of strategic business executive Jinnee Lim to the role of Chief Growth Officer – Southeast Asia, effective immediately.

This follows the fast-growing company’s recent purchase of the GoBear brand across seven markets: Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.

The deal, which was finalised in April, comprised trademark and digital assets including domains, website content and social channels.

It did not include operations and staff, with the majority of staff exiting the business prior to the commencement of discussions between Finder and GoBear.

Jinnee Lim’s career prior to Finder’s appointment

Lim came from GoBear, where she was the Chief Strategy Officer and was involved in the sale of the marketplace assets to Finder. She has more than 15 years of experience in corporate strategy, business development and strategic transformation.

Prior to GoBear, Lim was with UBS AG in several regional positions, most recently as the Asia Pacific Head of Client Programs & Segments.

She formerly worked as a management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group, advising leading global organisations in financial services, telecommunications and the public sector.

Lim now joins Finder’s global executive team who she’ll work closely with to identify and pursue new growth opportunities in the region. Her immediate focus will be ramping up Finder’s key capabilities in content creation, marketing and partnerships.

Commentary on Jinnee Lim’s Finder appointment

Jeremy Cabral, Finder’s co-founder and Chief Operating Officer said, “Lim’s business nous and extensive local experience made her the perfect candidate for the newly created role.”

“At Finder we’re on a mission to help people all over the world make better financial decisions every day and we’re excited to have Jinnee leading our Southeast Asian operations as we accelerate growth plans in the region,” he said.

“Jinnee’s growth mindset, expertise and passion is second to none and will ensure we deliver a market-leading product and play an important role in the lives of consumers in Asia.”

Lim is excited to be joining Finder as the company continues to build momentum globally.

“Finder’s proven comparison platform together with recent innovations such as the Finder app and cryptocurrency trading abilities make it a force to be reckoned with.

“I look forward to being part of Finder’s continued growth as it becomes a brand that consumers in Asia come to know and love – and I have no doubt they will.”

Finder is a global company

Finder currently has offices in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Poland and the Philippines, with plans to open an office in Singapore in the near future.

Lim will help in the global expansion of Finder’s audience, including the Finder app which helps consumers save and invest and will launch in markets beyond Australia later this year.

Finder compares across more than 200 different verticals ranging from personal finance products such as credit cards, home loans and savings accounts to online shopping, cryptocurrency and share trading, and is rapidly expanding into new areas.

This isn’t Lim’s first Australian connection; she spent four years in Australia studying Commerce majoring in Actuarial Studies at Melbourne University for her Bachelor’s degree.
