DoorDash joins over 100 IGA stores to offer a grocery-on-demand service to better support local communities

DoorDash partners with over 100 IGA stores offering groceries-on-demand

Over 100 IGA stores today announce a partnership with DoorDash, providing speedy delivery of groceries from their stores, direct to front doors within as little as 45 minutes.

These stores are currently listed on the DoorDash app, offering even more convenience and accessibility to local shoppers.

As the handy choice for top-up shops, last-minute or forgotten essentials, there are over 1,600 items listed on DoorDash, which is three times the amount available on any delivery app in the country.

This partnership marks DoorDash’s first national grocery offering in Australia, as the platform expands beyond restaurants into grocery, convenience, retail and more.

To celebrate its grocery debut, DoorDash will be offering customers $5 off for every $40 spent from Thursday 25 February until Wednesday 3 March.

Chase Gardner, Head of Enterprise Partnerships in Australia said: “We’re so pleased to be partnering with IGA to support family-owned businesses and the local communities they serve, ensuring locals are able to access any last-minute forgotten items.

Reaching more than 75 percent of Australians across the country, DoorDash is in a great position to support IGA’s network of stores nationwide and provide customers with convenient, reliable and cashless store-to-door deliveries.”

Where are these services available?

The partnership with IGA is now operating in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Cairns, Toowoomba, Gold Coast, Wollongong, Rockhampton, Townsville, Albury and Bathurst, with more locations to follow soon.

“IGA retailers have always been committed to serving locals and they understand how stressful it can be when items have been missed off the shopping list or how easily plans can change,” said Danielle Jenkinson, Executive General Manager, Retail at Metcash Food.

“They are always looking for ways to better service their local communities and partnerships such as these help to provide better service and even more convenience for local customers.

So, if you have forgotten a vital ingredient or you have unexpected guests arriving in an hour, our streamlined delivery partnership with DoorDash can help.”
