Quantum computing takes a leap with Archer Materials getting key patent

Archer Materials has been granted a key Australian patent for its 12CQ quantum computing tech. The patenting approval signals a step forward for the Adelaide-based firm in the race towards the world-first technology being used in every day products, such as smart phones. The firm, which has an office in Adelaide’s Lot Fourteen innovation district, announced this month it now has commercial rights to its 12CQ chip invention. Archer Materials CEO Dr Mohammad Choucair said that once fully developed, it’s hoped the ultra-powerful 12CQ chip will be able to operate at room-temperature and integrated into everyday electronic devices.

FPT Software casts semiconductor subsidiary, makes inaugural chips

FPT Software, an ICT company in Vietnam, has launched a subsidiary, FPT Semiconductor, marking a key milestone for the company as it enters the booming semiconductor industry. FPT Software aims to gain a slice of Asia Pacific’s semiconductor market which accounts for 60% of sales. IDC projects that worldwide semiconductor revenue will reach $661bn in 2022, an increase of 13.7% over 2021. FPT Semiconductor released its first integrated circuits (ICs), which were designed in Vietnam and manufactured in South Korea, in August.

Cloudflare joins EU Cloud Code of Conduct, achieves new certifications

Cloudflare, Inc., the security and reliability firm helping to build a better Internet, announced it has joined the EU Cloud Code of Conduct (EU Cloud CoC) General Assembly, to raise the impact of trusted ecosystem and encourage firms to adopt GDPR-compliant cloud services. Cloudflare also announced that it has achieved two cloud security certifications: ISO/IEC 27018:2019 and C5 – Cloud Computing Compliance Criteria Catalog – by the Federal Office for Information Security in Germany. The EU Cloud Code of Conduct brings trust to the cloud computing market, aiding firms to source cloud services from GDPR-compliant providers.
