A 12-year-old Dutch/Nepali rapper and his younger sister have launched a fundraising campaign and benefit concert in Amsterdam to help two children’s homes in Nepal. The final concert will take place on Easter Monday, April 10, 2023, in collaboration with theater City of Wesopa in Weesp. Smaller events will be held leading up to this. On February 1, Dharan and Avana Rimal began this fundraising campaign and will continue with hosting pop-up shows at various places in Weesp and Amsterdam between February 1 and April 10.

The SPIE Prism Awards, which will celebrate their 15th anniversary in 2023 at SPIE Photonics West, are open for applications now through 15 September 2022. The awards, held annually by SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, are a recognition of the growing range of technical innovations across optics and photonics products on the market today.

Launched in 2019, the LawTech Hub by Lander & Rogers is the first program of its kind in Australia that brings together lawyers and entrepreneurs to design and build transformative legal tech. Over the course of the annual program, startups refine their problem statements and proofs of concept, pilot their technology, meet VCs and other funding avenues, and fast-track their business skills through masterclasses, culminating in a competitive pitch night.

Recognizing the intersecting relationship between climate change and gender inequality, on March 18 the Women’s Entrepreneurship Accelerator (WEA) brought together senior representatives of its founding partners to discuss the key role of women entrepreneurship in leading the way on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, and how women entrepreneurs contribute as change-makers in creating a more sustainable and inclusive society for all.

Global thinkers and local innovators will come together this month to discuss what the future might look like for cities, tech and innovation. As part of the City of Sydney’s annual visiting entrepreneur program, 11 future tech thinkers will take part in 17 events to discuss a future to be determined – from autonomous vehicles, decarbonisation and creative experiences, to future possibilities of the metaverse, cancer research and global health game changers.
