Zayed Sustainability Prize opens submissions for the 2024 cycle

The Zayed Sustainability Prize, the UAE’s pioneering global award for recognising excellence in sustainability, announced that the 2024 cycle is open for submissions. Submissions will be accepted until 2nd May through the online portal. Small to medium enterprises, nonprofit firms and high schools with sustainability solutions can submit an entry for consideration in one of the five categories of Heath, Food, Energy, Water and Global High Schools.

Info sessions slated for February ahead of the Churchill Fellowship

To inspire your application for the 2023 Churchill Fellowship, you’re invited to attend online live information sessions throughout February, with Jay Laga’aia, Nova Perris, Leigh Radford and Paul West. You will hear from Churchill Fellows, and you can register for any session. It is not essential that you attend a session that aligns with your proposed Fellowship topic.

The Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA), an organization dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in journalism, announced that the SOPA 2023 Awards for Editorial Excellence are open for entries. The deadline for submissions is 3pm Hong Kong time on February 16, 2023. The SOPA Awards for Editorial Excellence are celebrating their 25th anniversary next year. The awards span 21 categories and are divided into three groups according to language and size of the publication: Global and Regional, both in English language, and Chinese language.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the launch and call for applications for the Clean Energy Accelerator 3.0, a high-pace, non-equity dilutive accelerator designed to facilitate partnerships with mature startups developing breakthrough clean energy technologies. The opening of the Clean Energy Accelerator was announced by Kara Hurst, Vice President of Worldwide Sustainability at Amazon, during a session at the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on November 10. Inaugurated in 2021, the accelerator was AWS’s first accelerator program focused on fostering innovation and rapid growth of clean energy tech, which is needed to address the global climate crisis.

Shane Warne and Ron Clarke added to the Sport Australia Hall of Fame

Warne, who was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2009 as an athlete Member, he popularised the art of leg-spin bowling like no other person before him taking a fantastic 708 wickets from his 145 Tests.
