Luyten picked to print houses for First Nations people in Northern Territory

Australian 3D printing building and construction firm, Luyten, has signed a deal with the Ilpeye Ilpeye Aboriginal Corporation (IIAC) to build five 3D printed homes in the Northern Territory. The houses will be built using Luyten’s world-class 3D printing tech which has garnered international acclaim and attracted the interest of multinational building companies across the globe. The deal will see Luyten commence building the structures in August this year.

SES’s C-band satellite successfully launched onboard SpaceX rocket

SES announced that the SES-22 satellite was launched into space onboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX’s Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, US. The SES’s C-band satellites dedicated to freeing up the lower 300 MHz of C-band spectrum is built by Thales Alenia Space, and will operate in the 135 degrees West orbital slot.

Quantum computing takes a leap with Archer Materials getting key patent

Archer Materials has been granted a key Australian patent for its 12CQ quantum computing tech. The patenting approval signals a step forward for the Adelaide-based firm in the race towards the world-first technology being used in every day products, such as smart phones. The firm, which has an office in Adelaide’s Lot Fourteen innovation district, announced this month it now has commercial rights to its 12CQ chip invention. Archer Materials CEO Dr Mohammad Choucair said that once fully developed, it’s hoped the ultra-powerful 12CQ chip will be able to operate at room-temperature and integrated into everyday electronic devices.

SkyDrop and Domino’s to launch commercial drone delivery trial in NZ

SkyDrop announced that production of the drone fleet for the commercial drone delivery trial with Domino’s is complete. SkyDrop (formerly known as Flirtey) and Domino's Pizza Enterprises Limited, signed a deal to launch the second phase of drone deliveries in New Zealand. This trial with Domino’s is scheduled to launch in New Zealand in the coming months.

Velodyne Lidar’s IIS used in Helsinki traffic safety improvement project

Velodyne Lidar, Inc. announced its Intelligent Infrastructure Solution (IIS) was deployed in Helsinki, Finland to collect traffic data and improve road safety. The project showed the value of IIS in multimodal traffic classification, and in near miss collision detection and monitoring.
