COVID-19 checks led to fewer sports injury hospitalisations in 2019–20

There were 7,800 fewer Australians admitted to hospital for injuries sustained while playing sport in 2019–20, according to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW). The report, Sports injury hospitalisations in Australia, 2019–20, shows the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions on organised sport from March 2020 resulted in fewer hospitalisations for winter sports, such as football, while those for solo activities such as cycling rose.

Aussie construction industry trails NZ and Asia on digital transformation

Procore Technologies, Inc., a global provider of construction management software, released the third edition of its construction industry benchmark report How We Build Now. Despite significant headwinds, 85% of Aussie respondents remain confident about the 12 months ahead, up from just 43% in April 2020.
