Verizon Business announced that BlueJeans has created a bespoke virtual conference platform solution for the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest host broadcaster the BBC. Serving as an online media centre, it will enable up to 2,000 journalists in nearly 50 countries across the globe to connect both onsite and offsite with Europe’s biggest entertainment event.

What does BlueJeans bring to Eurovision 2023?

BlueJeans by Verizon will also facilitate the live streaming of interactive interviews with all 37 artists taking part in this year’s competition on one of the event’s official social media platforms. These interviews can be viewed globally by the media and the general public.

Through the custom BlueJeans Expo experience, journalists from around the world will have access to live performances, dress rehearsals and media conferences, providing a fully immersive experience and enhancing the global reach of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.

Commenting on the alliance, Dave Goodman, ESC Digital and Communications Manager for the European Broadcasting Union, said, “We’re excited to partner with BlueJeans by Verizon as an official supplier for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, with the platform playing a vital role in helping fans around the globe interact with the artists via social media and to share rehearsals and press conferences with media who can’t be onsite with us in Liverpool.”

“We look forward to working closely together in the coming weeks and providing essential behind-the-scenes access to the world’s largest live music event,” Dave Goodman added.

Leveraging the partnership with Sparq Live for event management, BlueJeans by Verizon has engaged Sparq to facilitate the production set-up – cameras, lights, sound and tech – and streaming to social media. The custom platform will then be used to stream artist interviews live, and the general public will be able to ask contestants questions through the platform.
