Batch Brewing launches equity crowd fund surpassing AU$1.1m in funding

Batch Brewing Co launched its equity crowdfunding campaign with Equitise raising up to AU$1.5 million. With two breweries in Sydney plus distribution in venues and bottle shops, the company reached AU$1.1 million in funding from beer enthusiasts and keen investors.

The drivers of this successful crowdfunding campaign

The brewery emphasises community focus and delivers limited release beers weekly, each with its own unique combination of flavours. These exciting beers complement the award winning line up of sessionable core brands that together have earned it a fan base of over 30,000.

Batch generated AU$3.3 million in revenue over FY2020 selling over 345,000 litres of beer.

In addition to the two venues, the beer is sold online through Batch’s e-commerce store, in a mix of independent and chain bottle shops, including Woolworths and Coles-owned stores, and is on tap in hundreds of venues across the country.

Having hit capacity the company is raising capital to scale nationally. The first phase will be rolled out in NSW expanding to new cities. Longer-term plans include building an additional large scale brewery, or multiple medium scales breweries, as well as new venues interstate.

Co-Founder Andrew Fineran says, ‘‘We are blown away by the engagement with the offer so far having raised over $1.1 million. Community is at the heart of everything we do here at Batch Brewing, so when it came to raising capital to scale, we knew we wanted to invite that community to join us as co-owners.’’

The offer attracted a massive 2,000 expressions of interest before launching and surpassed its minimum funding of $500k within hours. Members of the public can now get on board from just $250, not only owning equity in the business but also accessing exclusive rewards
