ASM Global, the premier venue management and services firm, has named Jason Humphrey General Manager (GM) of Ithaca Downtown Conference Center. A professional with over 12 years of expertise in events and hospitality, Humphrey will be the first GM of the new center.
What does Humphrey bring to ASM Global in the role?
Ithaca Downtown Conference Center is part of the ASM Global portfolio, the largest and most diverse network of premier convention and trade show venues for millions of exhibitors and attendees across an extensive worldwide footprint that spans five continents.

As an Ithaca native, I’m passionate about delivering the best experience for our guests and also working together to positively impact our local community, the city of Ithaca and Tompkins County. Humphrey will oversee every aspect of the venue management and customer experience as well as work closely with the Downtown Ithaca Local Development Corporation, which owns the Ithaca Downtown Conference Center, to drive new economic activity in the destination.
Most recently, Humphrey served as an event services manager for the University of Pittsburgh, where he oversaw the planning and execution of various events within the University Club and other locations. Before that, he managed catering sales for Cornell University and served as an assistant general manager at the Hilton Garden Inn in Ithaca.
What does the appointment mean for ASM Global?

In making the announcement, ASM Global’s Dan Hoffend, Executive Vice President of convention centers, said, “Jason’s knowledge of Ithaca and the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York, coupled with his experience in venues and hotels, will accelerate their success.”
Opening in 2024, the Ithaca Downtown Conference Center will feature over 15,000 sq. ft of bi-level meeting space, including a first-floor junior ballroom and boardroom, a second-floor grand ballroom, and pre-function space. Centrally located near hotels and restaurants, the venue also offers easy access to the natural beauty of the Finger Lakes, providing a unique opportunity for meeting and event attendees to explore and draw inspiration from nature.
