Inspiration for the Return To Gold Wallabies 2021 jersey
It is the 30th anniversary of that World Cup win in 1991 and the new gold jersey combines the history of that famous team with technological advancements in fabric, fit and durability.
Andy Marinos Rugby AU Chief Executive said: “This gold jersey represents more than the 15 players on the field – it’s about our history and our future. It has delivered gold on the biggest stages, it is Australia’s gold, and the thread that binds the entire nation together.”
“ASICS did not shy away from the task asked by Rugby Australia and have put a great amount of detail, effort and focus into this jersey. To turn it around in a matter of months signals the importance and support we have enjoyed in making sure our teams are ready for battle.”
“It was a memorable night this year when the jersey colour was voted on, with clear indications leading into the event that the colour was a fan’s favourite with the poll prior to the event.”
“The Wallabies are excited with the jersey. At Suncorp Stadium they will strive to make us all proud as we unite behind the team and the jersey once again,” Marinos said.
