Tim Fung, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at Airtasker

Local-services marketplace Airtasker has today unveiled the winners of its inaugural Airtasker Awards Program, a new initiative recognising and rewarding skilled Aussies who went above and beyond to deliver outstanding service throughout a challenging 2021.

2021 was a year of growth for the flexible economy.

The Airtasker community grew by 13% as Aussies embraced new ways of working and, as lockdowns began to ease across the country in October 2021, Airtasker witnessed a significant 34% uplift in monthly Tasker registrations.

With more Aussies eager to boost their income, the Airtasker Awards Program celebrates the growing, diverse and skilled community of Top Taskers across the marketplace.

Dubbed the ‘Shed King’ by one of his clients, Australia’s Top Tasker of the Year, 42-year-old Damian from Victoria, boosted his income by $17,000 in the month of December alone by assembling sheds for space-poor Aussies.

With a whopping 800 five-star reviews under his belt, praising both his expert craftsmanship and shining personality, Dan’s hard graft and commitment to helping Aussies get the job done in an exceptionally busy year, scooped him the top prize.

Additional winners of the state titles include Josefina, a New South Wales artist who designed media personality Georgia Love’s bridesmaid cards and Joseph, a handyman from the Northern Territory, whose earnings on the marketplace paid for his wedding!

Speaking on his win, Damian said, “It’s great to be recognised by Airtasker for the work that I do. It’s been a busy few years but, as I love meeting new people and leaving behind a quality job, it’s been a very rewarding few years too!”

“When I first created my Airtasker profile, I never could have imagined my business would become as successful as it is now. It’s so simple to get started, so I hope that I can inspire more people to take that leap, find their passion and turn it into profit! ”

Airtasker Co-founder and CEO Tim Fung made the following remarks.

“The last two years have been tough for many Australians, and we’ve been super impressed again and again by our incredible Taskers who have continually delivered for their customers.”

“Our mission is to empower people to realise the full value of their skills.”

“Whether it be lending a hand in the garden or helping others to navigate their tax returns, building a full-time business or a side hustle to fund a special occasion, we wanted to recognise the outstanding Taskers who help Aussies get more done every day.”

Awardees were exceptional in their fields

“Each of our Top Taskers have won over their clients with their craftsmanship, positive attitude and excellent customer service and we can’t wait to see what lies ahead for them.”

Airtasker crunched the numbers over the past year to identify the top performing Taskers.

Key metrics include Tasker’s average rating, reviews and completion rate. Award
recipients scored high across all metrics and consistently delivered value to their community.

All winners will be awarded with a verified Top Tasker badge to be displayed on their Airtasker profile, with their outstanding contribution easily identifiable by customers.

In addition, the winners will also receive a growth mentoring session, a one-to-one catch up with CEO Tim Fung to help them grow their business, and Airtasker credit.
